Hello from Walt Disney World and the spectacular Animal Kingdom Lodge. I have a beautiful savannah view room on the Zebra Trail, where I have seen Zebra, Wildebeasts, Ankole Cattle, and Giraffes right outside on my balcony. This place is incredible!

Yesterday I took the Keys to the Kingdom Tour, and met several DISers who were taking an almost all ladies trip. Each had on identical t-shirts that had a letter on the back that, when they put it together right, spelled Mickey Mouse! And a few other unmentionable words. :D Just take the letters from "Mickey Mouse" and use your imagination.

Today went to Islands of Adventure. The place is amazing, but the Disney magic is missing. But there were a lot of half-dressed people running around, which made for excellent eye candy. ;)

Unfortunately, I have also been very ill, and it's taken everything I've got to go on. Went to the drug store tonight and got some Zantac, and hopefully that will take care of the problem. Jeez!

Anyhow, tomorrow it's off to the Magic Kingdom to see the new parade.

More later. {{{hugs}}}} to all of you!

Hi Steve! It's great of you to check in with your DIS friends. I'm glad you're having a nice trip so far, but I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. We'll look forward to your first-hand reports on all the 100th birthday celebration events.

Oh, Steve, I'm sorry you're not feeling well. But, being at WDW when you don't feel up to par is probably the best medicine to make you feel better! I hope you feel better tomorrow. I'm glad you're having fun and can't wait to hear all the details! Didn't I tell AKL was awesome? I don't remember our trail, but it sounds exactly like the animals we saw. I love the fact that they give you that cheat sheet so you know the names of some of the odder animals. Aren't the horns on the cattle something?!? Thanks for checking in and I'm patiently waiting for the next report. :D :D :D :D

I'm baaaaaack!

Felt much better yesterday, so went ahead and spent the day at the Magic Kingdom. It's unbelievable....most of the attractions were complete walk-ons, including Splash and BTMRR. The only line I stood in was for The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. And that was only 20 minutes. Saw the new Hall of Presidents with George W. He said something fairly generic about the American Dream. Maya Angelou's voice is gone, and replaced by somebody else. Reminded me of Donny Osmond.

The "Share A Dream Come True" parade was wonderful. I'll have pictures when I get back. A virtual calvalcade of characters and almost enough to make disneycub all misty-eyed. Course that doesn't take much these days.

Interviews this morning and Epcot World Showcase this afternoon and evening. Tapestry of Dreams Parade and dinner at the Rose and Crown before Illuminations.

See you all real soon!

Hi, Steve, I'm so glad you're feeling better. WOW! I can't believe you're just walking on rides! How strange is that? I can't wait to see the parade! I'm going to be in snowglobe trouble for sure! Too funny, I get choked up just seeing the pictures of the new parades. (good news-I think I've got Bill interested in a couple of days at WDW after the cruise! WooHoo!!!) Good luck with your interviews. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! Have a great day and enjoy EPCOT. I love eating at R & C while watching Illuminations!
Nancy! That was so nice of you. Thanks!

Hi everybody...

Just a quick update. Today is my last day here at WDW, but I'm already looking forward to the convention. I've got plenty to do before then. Looks like I'll be going into the hospital for awhile. The problem all along has been.....a hernia, if you can believe that. But I should be as good as new come November. <<SIGH>>

Today I'll be taking it easy, period. Well.....except for Spectromagic and Fireworks tonight. I have to get up way early tomorrow morning to catch my flight back into Denver at 9:00, which means I have to be at the airport at 6 or 7.

Full report sometime next week.

Oh My Steve! A hernia! I don't have a lot of good things to say about a hernia (if there is anything good about a hernia :) )

One thing is that recovery can be much quicker these days. My DH had two a year apart in the same location back in the mid 80's. Back them you were hospitalized and had open surgery with 6 weeks to recover. Now they can do it Lap as outpatient and just a couple days to recover.

STILL, I don't envy you. Take care and know that you're in our thoughts.
