I've heard that some airlines have discontinued food service. Will US Airways continue to serve food on it's FL flights?
Thanks!

We flew out of PIT to MCO on 9-21. Our tickets were listed as snack/brunch. We got a box with a bagel, cream cheese, pack of raisins, and a fruit bar. (Plus a drink.) On the way home yesterday, our tickets were listed as "no meal" We got a drink, and a tiny package of snack mix.

yes they are still serving snack meals from pit to mco depending on the time of day. if you have one of the 2 morning flights then yes you get something and the last flight of the day gets nothing but beverage service. for some reason they sometimes serve food on the lunch flights and sometimes they don't. I guess it depends on catering that day.

At this point I think unles you are on a flight longer than four hours, I wouldn't count on food service from any carrier. You can always bring on sandwiches from home, eat right before you get on the plane, etc. In all honesty, with winter quickly approaching, and plane that can sit fully loaded on tarmacs for quite some time, I would always suggest bringing something to eat on with you--granola bars, energy bars, etc., just in case.

Depends when you're flying ... I was in First this weekend CLT-FLL-CLT and got a snack both ways ...
However, US has announced that they are eliminating food service on all flights *except* trans-continental flights (flights to SEA/SAN/SNA/LAX and maybe PHX and LAS) and trans-Atlantic flights in the next 30 days.
