We are thinking of doing the dessert party at epcot in place of the traditional rehersal dinner. If we were to do the rehersal dinner it would be in a public restaurant and we want it to be more private to give gifts and toasts. Has anyone else done this as their rehersal party. Please let me know we are planning on about 21 - 28 guests for the rehersal. Any advise on desserts or locations? Or does this idea sound weird? Thanks for all your help!

Our original plan was to have a DP for our RD too. We had the Lower UK Reserved, but in the end we changed the DP to evening of the wedding day. A nice way to end the day. So having your Rehearsal at a Dessert Party is a pretty good idea. Just ask your planner which locations are the smaller ones. I now UK would work for that size.

2BWEDDNDIS, I wanted to follow my vow renewal's rehearsal with an intimate gathering for my guests. I briefly considered hosting my party inside Epcot, but chose not to because I wanted a more intimate location. Epcot wouldn't have given me the sort of party that I was after and thus the Grand Floridian's marina was my choice. It turned out beautifully. I shared a little bit of information in the following thread -- click here (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=938090&page=1&pp=15).

Many couples have hosted their dessert parties inside Epcot and those parties have turned out beautifully. I bet yours will be just as beautiful (and fun). Disney truly does a lovely job with their parties.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Have fun planning it!

I had considered doing a dessert party rather than a traditional rd...I am doing the rd though I was afraid it would be cold, we are in Nov

Just a note, if anyone is concerned about it being cold Disney can provide space heaters for the event!

I think it is an awesome idea:) It's what I wanted, but mil was in charge and I was afraid to suggest it due to the cost...
