VWL closing in April..still time for Christmas ressie?

We just faxed back paperwork for a VWL resale today...so if all goes well we close in appx. 8 weeks.

We already have plans for a Christmas trip to WDW from Dec. 15-24.

Will there still be rooms available to book at VWL when we close hopefully in April? I know how popular VWL is in Dec. and I'm nervous that we will be cutting it too close and we won't get a room.

I hate to disappoint you badly, but we just bought VWL through Disney & tried to make reservations at the 10 month mark. We're on a waiting list for Dec 2-9 (studio).
I'm sure it'll come through, but the place is already completely booked.

Someone posted on another thread about the resort booking up....I think I'll have to look at renting points from a VWL owner for this trip.

not speaking from experience here, as i am a new DVC member.....but i've read on these boards that a lot of folks will book at their home resorts at the 11-month window to ensure they have a "back-up plan", with the full intention of transferring the ressie to a non-home resort at the 7-month window.

here's hoping that's the case with VWL in DEC and you both can get in at 7-months! good luck.......

There is another thread on this board that all the studios and 2 bedrooms are full for Christmas week, so renting isn't going to solve the problem, either unless you want a 1 bedroom.

I think you should plan on waitlisting your ressie, because folks who make their plans 11 months out often have them change. Maybe if you can be flexible with the size unit, you could waitlist and see what comes up.

Thank you for all the replies. Since we really want to stay at VWL this December ( its our first holiday trip to WDW) and the resort is booking up fast we went ahead and asked our cousin ( VWL owner) to book our December ressies for us. :woohoo: :woohoo: Got the confirmation!

Now I don't have to sweat it when our contract will close. Then when we do close I'll bank what I can and use/rent the rest.

Good luck OP with Dec. We would love to stay there for our Dec 2006 trip but I have our home SSR booked and will be fine staying there if VWL isn't available.
