Asking the experts with kiddies????
What should I bring for my 3 kids to do while on the plane to Orlando and for our 2 hour lay over in St. Louis? My kids ages are 10 1/2, he is easy - gameboy, & 2 dd's 5 & 4.
Do you think gameboy's are allowed on planes? Is carry on bags still allowed? Thanks to all!

It varies by carrier. Who are you flying with? The majors (US, CO, DL, AA, UAL, NW, SW) are still allowing carry-on, although many are restricting you to one piece. They are also to my knowledge still allowing Game Boys, laptops, cell phones and pagers. Call your carrier for specific info.
You may not bring on sharp pointed objects, cutting objects of any size or type (even kids safety scissors), etc.
Best bet is to call ahead and find out your carriers specific policies. Or visit their web site.

My 5 yr. old loves the sticker books... the ones that have numbered spots on the pages and you peel off the coordinating sticker to put there. We tried the colors and drawing stuff, but there's too many things to drop with that.

There are travel size magna doodles, or etch-a-sketches that are great for the little ones . Any little toy that is new and they haven't seen yet is good. In some of the speciality toy stores there are often "travel Kits" which are age appropriate. They might even have one for your 10 year old. When you are in St. Louis, I would just walk around the terminal. I am not sure about STL, but many airports have play areas/kidports. This way it will tire them out a little, and they won't need as much entertainment on the plane!:D

Thanks Gail! I think most of the majors haven't really changed their carry on policies, other than to adapt them to meet the new FAA policies on sharp instruments, etc.
As I said on another thread, I think that some of the minors that are changing their policies are doing so to increase their on time performance ratings. Using a tragedy to enhance ones service record (if that is actually the case) is IMHO ethically and morally wrong.
