A friend mentioned to me that they didn't think fanny packs were allowed at DL any more. Is this true? We're headed there at the end of the month and all planned on wearing fanny packs.

And Backpacks.... but security does search them before you enter, so it slows you down a bit. I always carry one.

I don't think the Fashion Police took over the security in Disneyland. I wouldn't be caught wearing one for sure.
But you can still wear them provided you don't bring anything prohibited.

I would never be caught wearing one in my hometown, but in DL, it is a must!!
In December, I wore a big honking one with 3 pockets.
In it:
A water bottle, gum, fruit leather, advil, hand sanitizer, digital camera, batteries, map, bandaids, money and passes.
Hubby wore one too. In his was mints, the video camera.
I don't like the idea of having a big backpack on that you have to take off on all the rides. The belly bag can stay on all the time. On the rides that have lap bars, I just turn it to the side. It is also much easier on your back.
It also keeps the cameras etc.. dry on the water rides.
They do a quick check at security.
I wouldn't do Disney without one!!

I just buy shorts with big pockets on the sides!!!! It's amazing how much you can carry round in your pockets.

Man, people still wear those? Only bag I ever carry (and it's only once or twice on a trip) into the park is a camera bag because of all the different lenses and film canisters I carry (I still shoot slide film more than digital). I always laugh when they search it because when they see all the high end Canon stuff they alwyas act impressed.
But I digress. I would recommend trying to avoid any bags at all being carried around DL. It's just something you have to lug around (even a little weight on your waist makes a difference after a busy day) and could possibly lose. I also save any shopping until one or two days before we check out so I know what I want to pick up, can go get it, take it back to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day. I'm a guy, I don't like to shop when I can avoid it :teeth:

We're there with 3 children so carrying something around (for the autograph books, bandaids, sunscreen, etc.) is a must. It's not like I love fanny packs, but they seemed the best choice. Glad they are allowed.

I wear a fanny pack to carry everyone elses "CRAP" :teeth: Everyone's tickets, my husbands wallet, my camera, spare batteries, a water bottle, advil, bandaids etc. Its a great system for us. I'd probably feel NEKKID without one!

No fanny packs! That stinks. I'm a jeans and t-shirt guy. Unless I'm wearing multi pocket shorts,I have very little space to carry my film, smokes, lighter and other stuff. :confused3
