I have a ton of these movies that I bought over the years (all are VHS if that tells you anything). I was just wondering if any were worth anything or if we should just throw caution to the wind and open them. And if some are rare, how would I know which ones I should open and not open??

I guess you could check out Ebay and see what they're going for. Either seperately or as a "lot". I know I've bought out of print Disney movies on Ebay and at garage sales. I was happy to find them.

Good luck

I am pretty sure that if you have a Songs of the South unopen VHS, it would be worth a lot of money.

In general the VHS tapes are not hot as collectibles. One Little Mermaid box cover design seems to be worth a little more than the others, but in general I haven't seen any really valuable ones.

If they are from the earliest Disney releases, some of them are quite valuable because they haven't been re-released since then.

"Child of Glass" is an example of one such title.

Are they animated or live action films?

They are all animated. Song of the South I do have and that one I knew not to open. :thumbsup2 What about Little Mermaid though. How do I know which cover??? I have two of those.

I would check ebay and check under the advanced search for closed auctions to really see what people really bid and paid recently. I am going to start listing soon again, ebay has been slow but seems to be picking up some again. Good luck.
