I promised some ladies I would repost the Epcot Swap so here goes. I have 3 spots gone already because they are the ladies I promised. I made a promise to them that is why they got their spots already :o Hope you don't mind..

You may use ANY color Bazzill paper you want (just let me know what you used so I can list them)
You may accent with patteren paper if you like.
You must have something that represents the country in the kit other than the topper. EXAMPLES: If you are doing France you can use the Effiel Tower, Italy you can use Leaning Tower of Pisa, America you can use Uncle Sam. Those are examples: You may add ANYTHING that represents the country. I just don't want the topper to say France and that is it. I want to incorporate something else besides the topper to show what the kit was about just incase you are doing a 2 or 3 page spread. Think of it this way, if you didn't have the topper how would you know it was a France layout or an Italy layout you had in front of you.

Here is a link to show what all the flags look like
http://www.wave.net/upg/immigration/flags.html

OK with that said on to the swap

This is a BAZZILL CARDSTOCK ONLY swap that means you can only use Bazzill cardstock.

I know there are ALOT of rules but when I'm in the mood to swap I rather know everything while I'm in the mood. I hate having to email hostesses then waiting for a reply on something. By the time she gets back to me who knows what type of mood I will be in. If you would like to see the results of a swap that I just hosted I will send you a link (as soon as I receive the last 2 packages within a day or 2 I'll post the link). You can see how everything blends together.

NITTY GRITTY
The Nitty Gritty should answer any questions on any spot you would like.

1. NO hand written lettering on ANY items. I may think my handwriting is beautiful (which it's NOT LOL) but you may think its horrid!

2. Topper Spot: Topper must be matted. MUST also be embellished in some way (i.e. brads, eyelets, charms, ribbon, embossing, etc).

3. Photo Mat Spots: Picture area must be NO smaller than 4 x 6. Must be matted. MUST also be embellished in some way (i.e. brads, eyelets, charms, ribbon, embossing, etc).

4. Journal Box or Library Pocket Spot: Journal Box the area for writing should be NO smaller than 3 x 4. It can be BIGGER if you would like. It also can be vertical or horizontal. Journal Box must be matted. MUST also be embellished in some way (i.e. brads, eyelets, charms, ribbon, embossing, etc). Library Pocket must include the card for journaling.

5. 4 Deco Squares Spot or 2 Embellished Slide Mounts: Squares can be vertical, horizontal or diagonal. Must be matted. MUST also be embellished in some way (i.e. brads, eyelets, charms, ribbon, embossing, etc). Be CREATIVE: Here are some ideas~~ (http://www.webshots.com/search?new=...ds=deco+squares). Embellished Slide Mounts be creative

6. Song Lyric/Poem Spots or Quote about the country: Song Lyric/Poem/Quote area must be NO smaller than 2 ½ x 3 ½. It also can be vertical or horizontal. Must be matted. MUST also be embellished in some way (i.e. brads, eyelets, charms, ribbon, embossing, etc).

7. Shaker Box or Paper Piecing Spot: Be Creative. But only use Bazzill Cardshock on either item.

Now to the Mailing Details:

1. Place your items a baggie, you will end up with 1 baggie per kit (you will end up with 11 baggies). Please DO NOT label your item on its back. Some people don't like that. Since some of us put items on pictures we would like to make sure the photo stays safe.

2. Label each baggie with your name, screen name & kit name.

3. You have 2 options for postage.
A. Include enough return postage to mail the swap items back to you plus 2 extra stamps just in case. Any unused postage will be returned to you. MUST include a padded envelope (in your send) or box with address label, but do not attach the return postage....I will do that when I mail them back. If sending your items in a box I will return them back in the same box. Please make sure I can get the box open without killing it.

B. Since you are getting 11 full kits back I suggest you go this way. The USPS has a Priority Mail Flat Rate Box; Any weight, any state, for $8.05. This box is large enough to get all your items back to you safely and quickly. It also takes the guesswork out of shipping rate.

PLEASE SEND AN ADDRESS LABEL SO PACKAGE CAN BE RETURNED. THANKS

4. Mail your packages to:
My address will be sent out with Final Details

5. Please email me once your items have been mailed so that I can make sure I'm here for them.

Thank you for joining. I can't wait to see all the kits together.

Tracy

I think I am understanding this correctly but let me check...in case anybody else might be confused as well...
YOu would like us, once we buy the Bazzill, to list the actual shades of each color that we used. I was in a swap where those shades were included on a little slip with each page and that was quite helpful when trying to match it later to do more on the page.

If it is possible to list what you are using as bazzill cardstock that would be great but if not oh well. I just thought it would be easier to know what colors you used in advance. this way those who want to make more items can. My LSS doesn't sell Bazzill so the only place I can get it is off-line and it is hard (trust me on that) to match a color in your hand to the picture on the screen. I for one will buy 2 or 3 sheets of all the colors listed, if any. If its to hard to list that's fine too. It's not that big of a deal. But I will list mine as soon as i know what I'm doing :o

Is the due date for this swap really at the end of November? That seems like a really long time for the world to get in the way. :confused3

Also, if it is the last day of November, wouldn't it be November 30 since there are only 30 days in that month? I just want to make sure I understand all of the rules before I commit to something.

Any of those really. I have some France Stamps that I'd like to use to stamp embellishments onto the bazzill. For example, I have a Eiffel Tower stamp, so say I'd stamp that image onto the topper or something. Would that be okay?

I'd like to take on Morocco; I'll let you know the Bazzill names when I figure out which ones I'll be using.

Even if we know in advance, I like the idea of sending a "swatch card" with each kit -- with a small piece of the cardstock (1/2" square?) and its name. How does that sound to folks? I find it easier to put in my day planner, to refer to when shopping.

Thanks for hosting, Tracy!

I'm a "Prefer no handwriting" person as well. When you go through the expense of using Bazzill to have it look all coordinated, various types of handwriting, in my opinion, could be appealing to some but not to others. However, I never mind when folks identify themselves on the BACK of their items by writing their names (although I rarely see that) or by typing their info onto a label.

like i said before if i got all the items back by early I would send them out the day after I got the last item (unles the next day was sunday). I have no problem people sending early. I only host a couple swaps at a time I have draws for each swap. As soon as your swap gets here it goes in the right draw until all items are here. I just don't throw them in a pile and loose them. I'm a very anal and organize person. I drive my hubby nuts with that lol

I just hosted a very large swap-sign ups were in Oct. but since everyone was worried around the holidays we decided to put the due date in late Jan. There were 10 groups in that swap 70 spots total. I'm waiting for 1 more package (she sent it but it was sent back to her she had wrong zip). I didn't have 1 flake, I didn't have to have 1 spot angeled. That swap is going off without a hitch.

I'm sending out reminders in the reminder will be a gentle reminder plus next to the persons name that sent in their package will be received and the date received. also when I get your package I will send you a personal email letting you know I got your package.

Thanks for the interest

Thats a gret idea to send the swatch anyway. Because in LSS sometimes colors are mislabeled. But I can't get bazzill from any of my LSS because they don't sell them so I and others like me need the names lol

just.me, you might want to wait before you join the swap. hang out here for awhile and get the feel for things. Not sure if you've ever been in a swap, and what kind of scrapper you are. Usually we're a pretty great bunch of ladies here, but things have been a little uneasy for a couple months now. Plus there are all kinds of swaps going on here at the moment. Some poeple might be over extended. Find a swap with few rules (like the AK newbie swap, but it is full) and if you are new it should be easy to figure out and jump in.

www.scrappindeals.com sells Bazzill for $.39 per sheet.

pjpoohbear

I hit scrappingdeals and the price was great for all the sheets I needed (74 sheets @ 30.6X,) but with exchange, duty, taxes and shipping only about $8 cheaper than from here. Although they did have the best selection. the cheapest place in Canada is charging 59 US$ a sheet and they have a 10.00 shipping charge in the same province. So, on a hundred sheets it make it .69 a sheet before taxes. And they don't even have the selection that scrappingdeals does.

My LSS has only bazzill cardstock, so says the clerk, but some of it is smooth, still heavier than normal but smooth, is it really bazzill or should I find a new place to shop. More and more colours are being restocked in this smooth style and I don't like it as much.

bazzil does have smooth paper if you go to http://www.scrappindeals.com/

go to paper & cardstock-bazzill
then 12 x 12 individual sheets
then click 12 x 12 non textured

While I have bought some 12x12 sheets at LSS for 40- to 50-cents per sheet, I found some great deals on eBay. Some are sellers who buy in bulk from Bazzill and then put together their own packages, others sell the pre-packaged "trios" etc. I've gotten a few orders for as little as 24-cents per sheet!

Granted, these are usually large lots (200+ sheets), but in a variety of colors so it has been worthwhile.
