What are the best hotels to stay for 1 night within walking distance to DTD. We will arrive on sat but plan to check in to POR on sunday. Husband request just bed and shower. DD(9) and myself would like to be able to walk to DTD to shop while he gets a liitle sleep, since he will do all or most of the driving from Oklahoma.
THANKS

Cypress pointe might cost you $10 in cab fare but you would make it back in meal costs. I would go with it as suggested. I actually haven't stayed there but will in 3 weeks. It is not much farther than the DTD hotels.

Last year we stayed at the Doubletree Suites in downtown disney. We are returning there this year. They have a shuttle to take you to downtown disney and we actually walked to the crossroads restaurants for some meals.
Room was great as kids got the pullout sofa and hubby and I had the bedroom.
Plus they have a kids checkin and yummy, fresh abked cookies when you arrive as well.!

yes I noticed that Doubletree Suites seem to be having a sale in Nov...
some really good prices!!! :thumbsup2
lots of people here love Cypress Pointe

they get excellent reviews here. I think I have seem one negatitive out of several hundred positive....
however Doubletree is in DD - so it is much easier to get to DD from it.

You cannot get any closer than the hotels on the "plazza" - and the absolute closest (i.e across the road from DTD are the Buena Vista Palace & The Hilton.
