Question about what to take in the parks?!

I was wondering if anyone knew what you could "legally" take into the parks. I know you can't take a picnic lunch, but can you take drink bottles and snacks. Since they are checking bags now I would hate to pack something that wasn't allowed! Thank you!

They never seem to mind water bottles. I always carry in raisins, granola bars, etc for my little kids and no one has ever said anything. I think they just won't allow large coolers filled with food.

We're just back. They looked in our bags, saw our bottles of soda and snacks, and didn't seem to care.
