Paying room in full with Best Rate Prog??

I know that previously you could only pay the 1 night deposit in advance on room only bookings booked via the AP Best Rate Program and could not pay anything else until you arrived. My TA has been advised that even though the Best Rate Program has now been abolished I can still not pay anything off my Best Rate reservation, has anyone managed to do this and is there any way around it? I really want to pay some (if not all) of the cost before we go!!

Here's how I got around it. I called and had them convert my reservation from a BRP reservation to an AP discount code reservation (using the code listed on mousesavers). Since I was then booked via phone vs. via internet, I was able to make payments on my reservation (and also, get out from under any additional cancellation restrictions that apply to online bookings). A lot of hassle, but worth it for me.

Thanks for the suggestion, glad you found a way round it. I don't think it will work for me as there is apparently no more availability for Poly GVC for the days I want so I don't think I can rebook and then cancel the Best Rate booking and I am too scared to do it the other way round just in case!

I am just wondering whether there is any way of calling Guest Services in advance and making a payment as some sort of credit on our account in the same way as you can with DCL.
