I can't believe there's something at WDW I've missed!!! :confused3

I keep hearing about the Disney Dining Plan. What is this? Is it worth it? How do you get it? How do you use it? And basically any other info you can share would be greatly appreciated!! :worship:

I just hate to miss out if there's any chance of saving money :rotfl2:
Can anyone explain how this works? :wave2:

Here's the thing: If you like to eat, espically at some of the better restaurants, and don't mind getting an AP/Meal/Dessert then the plan is for you.

If you are not a big eater, and really don't like TS or planning meals for ADR's then the plan isn't for you.

The meal plan is GREAT! :thumbsup2

DH and I love to go to the nicer restaurants so it is well worth it for us-- saves us a lot of $$! You really only get one bigger meal (table service), the counter service meals are not that big-- it seemed like when we did the dining plan in Dec-- the counter service locations did not really have much for appetizers, the selections were not as great as the table service. and as far as the snacks- thats popcorn etc- not very filling either. if you space out your meals throughout the day you should be OK.

i would not go to disney without it! :cool1:

The poster who said the thing about how you like to eat is right. We did the dining plan in Oct. It cost us around $600 for 3 people for 6 days and we totaled up our costs after we got home. What we would've spent for the same thing w/out the plan was around $1100. It was a savings...having said that, we probably would not have had an appetizer and dessert each per meal if we weren't on the plan. I liked the convenience of the plan and it also gave us a weird sense of freedom. We'd already paid for everything so we felt free to try appetizers and desserts we probably wouldn't have otherwise and I didn't feel guilty if I didn't eat everything. :smooth: With the plan you get one counter service and one table service as well as one snack per day per person. We're not big b-fast people so it was plenty for us, but it's also something to think about.

It is a great idea--we paid for ours before we got there Dec 2-9/05---was great for the four of us. We had sit down meal every night in fabulous restaurants that we probably would not have eaten in.. We each ordered a different appetizer and dessert so we could share----and dessert is for holidays. LOL We did try things we might not have if we did not have the plan---ie. shrimp callamari etc. The kids got to try new stuff. Snacks cover a wide range of things---ice cream at the parks which are $3 US each---pop water bottles, chips, cheesies, popcorn, fruit and if you get a snack at the hotel (we stayed at Sports) cafeteria type area you can get a wide variety of fruits, cheese etc.... It was great! The extra snacks we got the day we were leaving and the kids had snacks for the plane-car ride home. I have two boys that love to eat so it was nice knowing it was already paid for and did not have to budget daily for food once we got there....and the food is expensive there---

It gets a big :thumbsup2 from us.

We have said that as long as Disney offers this, we will not return without it. Great value for the food you get. Can't say enough good stuff about it.

The dining plan ROCKS!! I agree with the poster who said it gives you some unknown and wonderful freedom to do and try things you might not have otherwise. And the fact that it's all paid for (including tax & tip) is a HUGE convenience for me. LOVE IT!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
