Hi all,
We're having people over for Super Bowl this year, and will be doing carne asada on the grill. I was just over at allrecipes.com and found a couple of interesting dips that I might make too. Anyone have any tried and true recipes or suggestions? So far it's only 9 people, but might be more.
Here's what I thought sounded interesting:

What about a layered dip?
1 can refried beans mixed with 1 package taco seasoning on the bottom
1 8oz container sour cream
1 8oz container guacamole (work carefully, it's hard to get the layers pretty here)
1 tomato chopped (we substitue salsa here)
chopped green chilis (to taste)
chopped or sliced black olives (to taste)
shredded monteray jack or sharp cheddar
Actually, we layered these in margarita glasses for individual servings - it was easier to do and makes a fantastic presentation!

Its easy and fast!! Take a big ole loaf of some sort of fancy bread you like. I use Herb Como Bread. Score the top of it like a checkerboard. Mix up a batch of creamed dried beef. (Basic white sause w/ chipped dried beef in it) and shove that into the cuts you made in the bread. Sprinkle the top w/ cheddar cheese and broil untill the cheese melts. Everyone rips off a piece to eat and it is yummy!!!
Go to allrecipes and type in Buffalo Chicken Dip. It was awesome. Can make it as hot as you want. I used real chicken breast I had boiled and shredded. I put it in a small crock pot. I served it with crackers and celery.

Mix equal amounts of canned chili with or without beans and canned tamales. (chop up the tamales) Mix well, pour into 9x13 baking dish and top with shredded cheese and bake at 375 for about 20 minutes or til hot and bubbly. Use tortilla chips to dip. You can also top with sliced olives.

But u mix cream cheese and other items and chill it, after , take it out and for it in the shape of a football on a plate. then cover it in bacon bits to back a brown shape . bell peppers for laces. and put crackers around it for an awesome dip !
