Will I be able to get a room key for a child (under 2)? The reservation (studio) will be for one adult and one child, but I would like to have a key for her since I will be getting a sitter for a couple days (while I am in meetings) and would like the sitter to be able to take her for walks, etc.
I don't want to add the sitters name to the reservation obviously since she won't be staying there - and I am considering getting the dining plan since I wanted to go to HDDR and the luau two of the evenings.

When we checked into SSR they gave us a key for my nephew, who was just turning one, with his name on it "for a souvenier" as the cast member said. But she left the room charging option off, and thank goodness, cause does that boy like to spend! :rotfl:

I'm sure it will be no problem,my son gets one every visit since he was 5 as a keepsake.

Just a word regarding keeping the room keys as keepsakes. Our kids were collecting them too. Then someone mentioned that, since they are coded for room charging (and you credit card information) they could possibly be used by someone trying to get hold of your personal information.
I don't know if this is an alarmist rumour but this person had watched one of those tv show's on identity theft. They suggested cutting them up after your vacation.
Perhaps the non charging one are no problem...I don't know...

We always put the non-charging option on our daughter's card. I think you'd be crazy to let a 6 year old charge things--crazy, crazy, crazy!

I don't believe that your credit card info is stored on the key, it just refers back to your account/filo number at your resort hotel.
