Greetings WISHers... I'm 38, and used to be a regular runner. I fell off when my first daughter was born (DD8 princess: ), and have had a hard time getting back to exercising ever since. Daughter born, got first real job, yada, yada, yada. I'm looking for some support as I try to get back to running. I've always had a dream of running a marathon. I thought it would be great to try to run a half marathon first as I try to get to the marathon, but I need some support. Anyone out there that can help me. I'm going to build up really slowly because the last time I tried to run (last summer), I got terrible shin splints and could barely walk.

Here goes, I'm going to leave work a little early and go for a 1/2 hour walk right now.

Hope your walk went well. I'm an all or nothing person (I think it matches my type A personality). Any way, I started WISHing not too long ago (see the bottom of my siggY) and I've lost 6lbs. in less than 2 weeks. You can do it, it just takes getting started (and you already have).

Have you gotten a WISH buddy yet? There's a thread about that and I'd definately find some one to be accountable to. Be sure to post your exercise for the day as well as posting what weight you've lost during the month. This is one area of my life that I like people bugging me about. Have I worked out? What'd you do today? What'd you eat? How's life going....etc. Good luck and keep on walking.

Think about signing up for the marathon at WDW for 2006/07 or if your on the west coast the DL mini-marathon this Sept.

Here's a link to the finding a buddy list. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=993803

P.S. I wasn't exercising at all two weeks ago and as of last night I exercised for over an hour and a half. If I can do it, you can too.
