Treadmills/elliptical machines

DH and I have decided we want to purchase a treadmill any recommendations on brands or what to look out for?

ETA: We're also looking at Ellipticals too and don't know which way to go. :)

I got mine from Sears a few years ago. I just wanted one that was NOT manual and had a heart monitor attachment. You know, where you can put your finger and get the heart rate. I really didn't need all the bells and whistles. It also shows your miles walked, time, calories burned and speed. I am not sure how accurate the calories burned is but its motivating.
