How about LGA?

Our flight is leaving LaGuardia at 8PM and I was thinking I have to be
there by 6PM....

(This post is in reference to the post "Is anyone
flying out of ISG....?")

Delta told me 2 hours before flights at LGA.
So 6pm should be fine - but roads - becareful of the traffic and check-points.
You may want to leave extra time for traveling to the airport

Also - you can NOT stop in front of the terminal at Delta in LGA.
You must park your car and take a shuttle WITH your luggage.
No dropping off luggage curbside.

Or return your rental car to the rental agency (we are using Hertz) and take
their shuttle with the luggage.

Be ready to have your luggage OPENED at check in (Delta safty rules).

Our flight is at 6:10 AM - Delta does not open the terminal till 4:30 AM
so... unless they change the terminal time - we will aim for 4 AM - and
wait in the car till the terminal opens. The kids can get a few extra winks of sleep ;)

Our flight leaves at 8PM. We planned on taking a limo
(my sister-in-law's friend does not even know that she will be
going because it is a BIRTHDAY SUPRISE; her dad has a limo service
and the ride to the airport is his gift to her).

Will they let limos go to the "Departing" area?

since its during peak times for travel I might even give yourself 2 1/2 hrs. I wish there was a way you could check the airport lines.... when they say the terminal opens at 430 am...you can still go inside(at 4 am) you will just have to stand in line a little longer. when we would get to work for 4 am you wouldn't believe the people already in line and waiting for the counter to open up.

Beverly Lynn,

Did you see in the Post Gazette this morning that USAir is allowing curb-side baggage check-in at PIT starting today (page A-3)? I thought that ban was countrywide. Wonder if their info is right?

If friends and/or family are dropping you off at the airport for your flight, can they drive up to the terminal at most airports just for you to unload and get out? Doesn't seem like they should have to go into a parking lot when they are simply letting someone off. I do understand this though, just seems a little odd.

Let me know what others have experienced. Thanks

It depends on the airport. PIT started allowing curbside passenger dropoffs & pickups about a week ago. Before that, you had to enter long term parking to dropoff, and were allowed a free half hour on the parking.
