When you go without the kids

How do you hide your excitement? DH and I are leaving in 9 days for our first trip ever, anywhere without our kids-over 17 years. I am coming out of my skin, but I don't want to make the kids feel worse than they already do because they're not going. They've been 5 times so I don't feel as badly as I would if they hadn't been at all. Anyway, I'm doing this single digit dance today in my head and just wanted to share :cool1: party: :mickeyjum :tink:

we will be there Feb 1-5 without kids also. Staying at CBR for wife birthday but she thinks we are staying at a cheap off site place. hehehehehehehe

We're going too w/o the kids. Of course they are 3.5 and 5mo so they don;t know. It's just a long trip to the grocery store :cool1: We'll be at VWL celebrating DH's b-day and our 10yr anniv! I'm soooooooooo excited. We need some ALONE time ;)

I tone it down a little but I do let them know that I'm excited. When they see me excited they tell me that they can't believe I'm going without them. I just tell them that there will be several moments that I wished they were there with me but this is a trip I must do alone.
I know they feel bad but mom's a person too who sometimes has her own agenda.

I feel just like the Original Post-er. We are planning our 10 yr in October, I cant wait, but our kids will be 11 and 8 they are not happy. But long story short we started having kids in High School, and have never been alone together for more than a day or two,this trip will be 7 nights, and 7 days! 5 night at OKW, rent points from great couple! And 2 nights concierge Poly, HOPING for MK view! LOL We are just trying to keep the excitement low key when they are around! And when their not we are beaming from ear to ear, we are also bribing them with souveniers! LOL

I asked DS13 if he wanted to come along on my March wk trip and he said "Mom, 1 wk at WDW per year is enough"
Reminded him "We're going for 2wks in August just last like year"
"Ok mom have fun but my friend & I are glad our mom's are going away w/out us"

yup - 54 more days to go and they cant wait! lol

DH & I are going 4/21-4/29 without DS14 & DGD6. They both have spring vacation different weeks of April & DS is on track team. Asked DS ok if we go without him. He should sure go ahead. DGD not happy though. So we asked another couple to go with us & made our ressies. Can't wait! Now what do we do? I know Boma is definitely a go for dinner. Anyone have any ideas? pixiedust:
