Color-themed page kit swap ***Group 2 update- page 11***

Hi everyone,

Well, I have had this swap planned for awhile now, and I know there is a lot going on, but let's see what kind of interest we can get.

Due date will be April 1st.

This is a color-based page kit swap. You will need to choose one color and use at least 3 different shades to produce your items. Please choose one element from each of the following groups to produce for your kit.

1) PHOTO ELEMENT - Photo mat or frame (for a 4x6 photo)

2) JOURNALLING ELEMENT - Journal Box (at least 3x3) or Library Pocket and tag

3) DECORATIVE ELEMENT - 4 deco squares, 2 slide mounts, 2 tags, 1 mini file folder, 1 matchbook, or other similar embellishment -- feel free to use your imagination, get creative, step outside your comfort zone!!

4) EMBELLIE SURPRISE - This is the fun part -- make up a little embellishment goodie bag. You can include ribbon or fibers (at least 18 inches), brads, eyelets, charms, buttons, Prima flowers, silk flowers, photo corners, bottlecaps, a rub-on word, some stickers, page pebbles, ghost letters, chipboard letters... sky's the limit! Please be generous and include items that you would love to receive yourself!!

Photo mats, frame, journal boxes, deco squares and tags should be double-matted. All items should be embellished with at least one technique (ie inking, distressing, chalking, eyelets/brads, fibers/ribbon, embossing, etc). All items should be acid-free/lignin-free. Patterned paper can be used as an accent as long as it works within the color scheme.

Please make sure all cuts and matting are straight (unless you purposely mat at an angle). Please make sure your work is something you'd be proud of and happy to receive yourself.

RULES RULES RULES (the yucky part)
If you have not participated in one of my swaps before, I will ask you to provide me with your phone# via PM. Unfortunately, I've had a flaker in every swap so I find it necessary to cover all the bases. I will also ask you to check in with me 2 weeks before the swap due date. If I don't hear from you, I will ask for an angel to take your spot. Lastly, PLEASE be on time. Plan ahead for mail delays. Priority mail does not mean 2-3 days anymore. The due date is the day it should be at my house, not the mailing date.

I am aiming for groups of 6, depending on interest. I will start off by creating a group for Bazzill only and another group for any cardstock, and see how it goes from there. Thanks for playing and feel free to post if you have any questions.

Nope, I don't need to know. I know sometimes, you get started and then change direction, so you don't have to feel tied in to any one element.

Hi there and welcome! I need to go back and edit the title.. I forgot the word "page" lol. It's a page kit. You will receive enough elements to create a layout. The only thing missing is your background cardstock or paper, as 12x12 is just too cumbersome to mail, and many do not scrap 12x12 or scrap CM style on the album pages.

It's not Disney-related. It's just centered around a particular color.

Okay, updated so far. In answer to your questions: yes, you need to assemble all pieces.

There are 4 groups below -- you will pick ONE elements from EACH group to make ONE page kit. Then you need to make SIX of these kits. So if you pick photo mat, journal box, and tags, you will make 6 photo mats, 6 journal boxes, and 12 tags, plus 6 embellishment baggies.

I also wanted to add that deco squares don't necessarily have to be "square". They can be circles or diamonds, or whatever you create. Just as long as they are double matted and a set of 4. If you want to see more examples, there are some really cute ones in the gallery at www.scrapbook.com

Deco squares are used for, well, decoration... you can use them in many different ways... as photo anchors, page anchors, on top of a strip of cardstock to make a topper or border, on top of ribbon or fiber to make a deco element, etc. I've seen them as small as 1 inch and as large as 2. Many here use the CM punches, which is 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 matted. Larger ones give you a little more flexibility in design if you want something intricate.

Oh, I used a Priority flat rate box, b/c you mentioned that it was better for you, I also send you the postage for the same box, so you can use a box for mine insted of the envelope, since you don't have many.

Also, you can also order the boxes and envelopes online free of charge and the mail man will deliver for you.

I did order them online.... I ordered them online LAST WEEK and it said 1-2 days... I JUST got them TODAY!!! Well, at least everything will go out by my original intended deadline of Monday. I got several packages today so I will go check them in and post on the first post.

I did order them online.... I ordered them online LAST WEEK and it said 1-2 days... I JUST got them TODAY!!! Well, at least everything will go out by my original intended deadline of Monday. I got several packages today so I will go check them in and post on the first post.

Okay everyone -- groups 1a and 1b are going postal on Monday.

Group 2 has 2 swappers that have not arrived yet, but are postal, per their posts.

I can either swap what I have or wait till they are received and send them out later this week.

If you want your stuff mailed back to you Monday, let me know via post or PM and I will send the extra pieces back to you. If you are willing to wait, then I will swap fully when I get the pieces.

I really wanted this to go smoothly and have everything received by the deadline, but I don't want to have to enforce the "late swappers will be returned unswapped" rule either... Just trying to be fair to everyone who worked to be on time....

Mom(s) my last swap package arrived 5 days after I mailed it, but it went out in the afternoon, this time I made sure it was in the 10 am pick-up, so it should be there by Wednesday at the lastest.

Wednesday mail brought no swap packages so we are still outstanding aunts2topher and PJPoohbear's packages at this point. I have sent a PM to aunts2topher and it has not been read.

I want to try to stick to the original rules as much as we can... since I know Penny's pieces are already enroute, I will wait for those hope they show up tomorrow, but unless aunts2topher responds, I will assume they never made it postal and swap out what I have.

What a wonderful package to come home to today! The color coordination was amazing. I'm amazed with the fantastic talent.

twigs, you have some beautiful embossing on your purple pieces. I particularly love the frame to the tag. That never would have occured to me but it adds such a simple, lovely touch.

ksjayhawks, wow! Where did you find that great punch from the journaling piece? It's so elegant and would be a perfect fit for a wedding album I'm working on. You were so generous with your embellishments, thank you.

calanniebu, I am so jealous of you ease in working with a bright color like orange. I tend to be to scared to even try it. Now though, I can't wait to get those elements onto a page.

Diana, the flowers are so pretty. I especially like the layered spiral of two pinks along the photo mat.

Finally, and by no means least, mamacentral. Where did you find that fantastic pattern paper? It goes perfectly with your flowers on the deco squares. I love the textured look to it.

Those were all done with my Wizard die cut machine. The dies are made so that you can cut and then emboss the items. And Patchchild that really was a lovely post. I too love all the items.

I sent regular letter post, no customs. It is the fastest option from Canada. Since it was mostly paper, it was the best choice. I will understand if others do not want to wait, but Joy take a set for yourself anyways. You have been a really patient hostess. I wonder how many parts of the USA my package has gotten to visit? If possible sent other sets to the ladies.
