The following airlines fly to Paris from various UK and Irish Airports

Aer Lingus (http://www.aerlingus.com/cgi-bin/obel01im1/bookonline/index.jsp ), Air France (http://www.airfrance.com/), bmibaby (http://www.bmibaby.com/bmibaby/en/index.aspx), British Airways ( http://www.britishairways.com/travel/home/public/en_?source=TOP_logo), easyJet (http://www.easyjet.co.uk/), flybe (http://www.flybe.com/ ), Jet2.com (http://www.jet2.com/), Ryanair (http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/)

WhoFlies2Where (http://www.whoflies2where.com/) is a useful website for finding your nearest budget airline for flights to Paris from the UK.

If your dates are flexible, then Skyscanner (http://www.skyscanner.net/) will help you find out the cheapest prices available on a particular day, over a whole month or up to a year. For those travelling from further afield Skyscanner will also help you find out which airlines fly to France and the options can also be narrowed to the various airports around Paris. Just choose your Departure Country and then the various options.

*Current airport security advice and restrictions can be found here (http://www.baa.com/portal/controller/dispatcher.jsp?CiID=5eae398e1889e010VgnVCM10000036 821c0a____&ChID=ac4597dc2eb12010VgnVCM100000147e120a____&Ct=B2C_CT_PRESS_RELEASE&CtID=a22889d8759a0010VgnVCM200000357e120a____&Ch=All+Press+Releases&ChPath=Home%5ECorporate%5EAll+Press+Releases&ChIDPath=caf397dc2eb12010VgnVCM100000147e120a____^ 2292ea0bb0022010VgnVCM100000147e120a____^ac4597dc2 eb12010VgnVCM100000147e120a____)*

CHARLES DE GAULLE (CDG) Airport

Charles de Gaulle (http://www.paris-cdg.com/index.html) is located 56 km northwest of DLRP and 23 km northeast of Paris.

Overview (http://www.paris-cdg.com/maps.html) map

Detailed maps (http://www.aeroportsdeparis.fr/ADP/en-GB/Passagers/Access-maps-car-park/Paris-CDG/maps/maps.htm) of each terminal

There are various options for getting to DLRP

The VEA is the scheduled shuttle service that leaves approximately every half hour. No need to pre-book - just pay by cash when you get on. Please note, credit cards no longer seem to be accepted. Click here (http://www.vea.fr/uk/index.asp) for their website and then click on Practical Info for the timetables and prices

The TGV can be the quicker way to get to the resort, though it isn't quite as convenient as the VEA. Use this site to find the train times from CDG to DLP (http://www.gares-en-mouvement.com/horaire-fr-1-frmlv-1.html?langue=fr&horloge=1&gare=frmlv&completion=1&depart=Aeroport+Cdg&arrivee=Marne+La+Vallee+Chessy&mode=d#) and from DLP to CDG (http://www.gares-en-mouvement.com/horaire-fr-1-frmlv-1.html?langue=fr&horloge=1&gare=frmlv&completion=1&depart=Marne+La+Vallee+Chessy&arrivee=Aeroport+Cdg&mode=d).

You can pre book your tickets on these websites - Rail Europe (http://www.raileurope.co.uk/), Voyages-sncf (http://www.voyages-sncf.com/dynamic/_SvHomePage?_DLG=SvHomePage&_CMD=cmdHomepageUK&WB=HP) and UK TGV (http://www.tgv.co.uk/?source=google_adwords&keyword=tgv_&affiliate=RELGOO003&type=PPC)

Use the CDGVAL light rail (http://www.easycdg.com/pages/cdgval_light_railpag.html) to reach the TGV station from the terminal you land at. There are also Shuttle buses servicing Terminals 2 A-F (http://www.easycdg.com/pages/shuttle_bus_terminal_2_cdgpag.html) and Terminal 2G (http://www.easycdg.com/pages/shuttle_buses_terminal_2g_cdgpag.html). Orientation and walking distances for Terminal 2 can be found here (http://www.easycdg.com/pages/terminal_2_for_pedestrianpag.html).

After exiting the CDGVAL you go down 2 levels to the TGV station (3 levels from the shuttle bus) - all well signposted.

If you haven't prebooked you can buy your ticket from the ticket office on your right or to the automatic machines which are also in English and take credit/debit cards.

The information board tells you which platform to go to and you have to punch your ticket in the orange machines before you go down one more level to board the train. The signs on the platform tell you the number of the train and what time it is due. The train takes approx 12 minutes and you get off at the first stop - Marne la Vallee Chessy. Have a look at this (http://parisbytrain.com/tgv-train-cdg-to-eurodisney/) article for more advice

Not sure whether the VEA or the TGV would be more suitable for you? Have a look at this (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1511273) thread for a comparison between the two.

You can also rent a car, take a taxi or book a private shuttle - see links below.

ORLY Airport

Orly (http://www.worldairportguides.com/paris-ory/) is located 50 km southwest of DLRP and 12 km south of Paris.

Overview (http://www.worldairportguides.com/paris-ory/maps.html) map

Detailed maps (http://www.aeroportsdeparis.fr/ADP/en-GB/Passagers/Access-maps-car-park/Paris-Orly/maps/) of each terminal

The VEA (http://www.vea.fr/uk/index.asp) shuttle also runs between here and DLP. Or you can rent a car or book a private shuttle

You can also use the Metro (Orlyval) which connects the airport with the city of Paris. Just follow the signs leading you to the Orlyval Metro station, where you board a train that takes you to the RER-station "Antony" ~ From here take the RER Line B in the direction of either "Mitry-Claye" or "Airport Charles de Gaulle". ~ Exit the train at the station "Chatelet Les Halles" and change onto the RER Line A travelling in the direction "Marne-la-Vallée Chessy" which is also your chosen stop.

BEAUVAIS Airport

Beauvais Airport (http://www.aeroportbeauvais.com/index.php?lang=eng) is located 125 km northwest of DLRP and 56 km northwest of Paris.

The transport options from here include booking a private shuttle or renting a car. The journey takes approx. 90 minutes.

As of 1st July 09 the VEA (http://www.vea.fr/uk/index.asp) shuttle now runs a very limited service between Beauvais and DLP, and between Beauvais and CDG (Terminal 2 E/F).

You can also take the bus from the airport to Paris "Porte Maillot" ~ Then from "Porte Maillot" take the Metro* line 1 (in the direction of "Chateau de Vincennes") just a couple of stops to the station "Charles de Gaulle Etoile" ~ And from here take the RER A (in the direction of "Marne La Vallee Chessy") to the last stop, which is "Marne La Vallee Chessy"

*See here (http://www.hotelsreviewed.com/paris-porte-maillot-bus-metro.html) for directions to the Metro from the Porte Maillot bus park

This will be a work in constant progress!!! I'm not sure if all of the links are working or if it's just my PC? :badpc: If there's anything you would like me to add, please let me know - information about travelling from the other parts of Europe and the US would be great. I'm also planning to do more threads for other modes of transport and then I would like to put them altogether as a sticky. :)

Thank you very much for this. It is great. We will take a flight on Friday. And I am still a little bitt confused. But you helped me a lot. I think we will take the VEA from CDG to DLRP, and on our way back we will take the TGV from DLRP to CDG. :flower2:

Great job Bexx!!! Just a tip concerning the TGV. It is more pratical to walk to the TGV station from terminals 2C,2D,2E, and 2F as they are directly connected to the TGV terminal by indoor walkways and provide elevators and escalators down to the ticketing area. The shuttle is more of a chore when going from those terminals.

Hi Bexx

Air-Scotland have discontinued their flight to CDG at present. They may reinstate it nearer the end of the year.

Hi Bexx,

Thought you might like to add this to your "Travelling to DLP by Plane" thread. It's a google map of Porte Maillot showing how to get from the bus "park" (for busses arriving from Beauvais) to Porte Maillot metro station (also gives directions for onward travel to DLP).

Most of the shuttle buses (especially for inter-terminal transfer) has been replaced by the CDGVAL (a smart mini rail shuttle), free to use for everyone.

The onle remaining bus shuttle is Line 1 = circle line within Terminal 2.

Edit: There's also a smart plan of Terminal 2's TGV/RER station:

Oliver, many thanks for that update. :thumbsup2 I knew it was on the cards but had no idea when it would start.

Angela - your last post got me searching for websites that show which airlines fly from where. Thank you :goodvibes

If there's anyone planning to fly by plane to DLRP from the UK my best advice would definitely be to book as early as possible.

I was looking at the difference in prices with mine and my girlfriends today and it's an extra £50 more each. Great savings if you ask me!

HI Becky

Can you please tell me what the difference is between the TGV and the CDG trains? I am a bit confused and wondering which one is better to get to DLP?

Thanks

Kelly

This thread here (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=26305737&posted=1#post26305737) and also here (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1511273&highlight=cdg) should help you. :)

If you're travelling quite light ie. not too much luggage, toddlers, buggies etc then the TGV train will probably be ideal for you as it's direct and very quick.

The RER train is the slower one and you will have to change. If the TGV is not for you, then it would be better to catch the VEA bus which is also direct and will drop you directly at your hotel.

Hope this helps, if you need to know anymore please ask away. :)

Just noticed that the RSTransport link takes you to BSTransport site
This is the website link I used http://www.rstransports.com/
and so far they're been a pleasure to deal with, prompt reply to email on a Sunday evening and confirmation of my reservation today within 10 minutes.:thumbsup2
Added to which they've quoted me cheaper than the VEA shuttle. :)

We used Tio Shuttles for our return transfer from CDG to Hotel New York (4-8th May 2009).

The return price for 5 passengers and luggage (which they do not charge for and a child booster seat which is free of charge) was Euro 140 which was E22 cheaper than the VEA bus system.

We were met by a suited young man holding a card with my father's name at CDG and he promptly took the trolley of luggage of my husband and told us to follow him to a very clean 7 seater mini-bus silver and opened all the doors for us and loaded the luggage himself into the large boot.

There was already a booster seat in the back for my little girl and off we went on our very quick 25 minute drive to the Hotel New York. The mini-bus was immaculate inside and we arrived very swiftly to the Hotel. He opend the doors for us and then unloaded our luggage outside the hotel and then confirmed our return journey details with my father who paid in cash for the first leg of our journey - 70Euros.

We were picked up at 6.30pm onthe day of our return by another driver in an equally immaculate mini-bus and the journey took approx 30 minutes back to CDG and we paid another 70Euros in cash to the driver.

It was an excellent service and much quicker than the VEA for us as this was not a shared transfer. Highly recommend them to other travellers.

We used the TGV from CDG to DLRP for the first time this week (we have used it on the return journey before, which I've always found easy and very convenient).

The outward journey was fine too I found. We landed on time at Terminal 1 at 6.30pm, walked straight through passport control with no delays, and had hand luggage only. We made it to the TGV station at Terminal 2, having used the CDGval between terminals, at 7.05pm, and we caught the 7.11pm train to Marne la Vallee. 10 minutes later we were at the main park gates :goodvibes.
