Hi everyone - Thinking about purchasing one or the other - any thoughts. Me and my DD (age 12) both need some dire help. I am 5 foot and she is 5'1 and still growing and i was very shocked when we both hopped on the scale and she is only 25 lbs lighter them me (mind you we both are wide around the middle) -- I do not want her to go through school being called CHUBBY or worse .. Thanks for any input.. Michelle

I love my treadmill. Can't walk outside because of allergies/asthma.
I usually watch DVDs from library but now have a MP3 player also.
Signing up for the Disney Half marathon last year gave me a reason to put in time on the treadmill. And i finished it and brought home a Donald medal thanks to the Wish board and NYCPA in particular.
Would a WDW Half marathon that be a possible reward/goal? It takes a lot of long workouts to burn fat , more so than for aerobic conditioning.
Good wishes to your and your daughter pursuing better health.
My biggest motivator for changing my life to be healthier is because my oldest sister died a year ago from cancer and the main risk factor for her cancer was obesity. I want to be healthy enough to dance at my daughters wedding!

I think I'd get a treadmill-- I just think it is more versatile. You can walk, and then build up to running. I really think the Gazelle is just another "gimmick" (why do they not have them in gyms-- they have elliptical machines-- if they are so much better like they say on the infomercial, why not??)
I personally would get bored of "gazelling" but because I can change my pace and the incline and all kinds of stuff like that with a treadmill, I would like that better-- you need to decide what you would stick to, though to really decide!!
