Has anybody began training for an event or started a new routine to keep their mind off of the old?

My boyfriend and I broke up this weekend for lack of better things to do in our relationship. It just hit a spot where it could no longer work, we acknowedged that, and it's time to move on. I am not one to mope around and cause more trouble for myself!

So, I was thinking that this is a great opportunity to make those changes in my life to become happier with myself. I had a great time last year training for the WDW 1/2, and am thinking I should do something similar again, although I can't go to WDW for that weekend because I have school.

Does anybody have any ideas? Anybody going through anything similar?
It's not fun, but there's gotta be a way to make it beneficial, right?!

I think this is a great idea!! I've actually been training for different events just because it helps time fly by because I'm getting ready for something, and I have something to look forward too!

I think it would definitely give you something to focus on and keep your mind off of other things.

Do you still have school in September? There is a 1/2 in Disneyland you can sign up for (it's on a Sunday, so theoretically, you can fly in Saturday morning, and out on Sunday evening-- you just don't have time to explore). Also, try looking around in your area for local races. Even 5Ks or 10Ks might be what it takes to keep you focused on something else!!!

Ashley, you are so smart about looking for a healthy alternative to moping about. How about getting with some of the teachers or kids in the school to start some sort of walking program? I know one of the teachers do it here with here elementary kids and they walk as long as they can get outdoors.

As already suggested, look for some local events too, or--something you can get to within your planned days off.

Let us know what you figure to do. I'm interested in hearing of your decision.
