We are waitlisted for a 1-bedroom at BWV on Sunday, March 12th. We are staying our first 5 nights at BCV in a studio, then the next 5 at BWV. We are hoping to move over to BWV a day earlier and enjoy more time in the 1 BR. At what point do I realistically give up hope???

My waitlist for a 2bd at SSR for Pres Week just came up today so don't give up hope! In August we got our waitlist for BCV 3 weeks before the trip.
Keep the faith :)

Tuesday I was put on a wait list for a 2 bedroom at BWV. Today they let me know I got it for March 6 thru the 12. But if I leave on the 7th and stay to the 13th the flights are $400 less(for 4 people), but the night of the 12th is booked. Waitlist for that night. Keep your fingers crossed, so far its worked for me and I've only bought in on Monday morning.

I wouldn't give up hope until the week before. Then you can call day to day from what I understand. I've had very good luck with the waitlist, even during those busy times. Hang in there...you have plenty of time yet. My last waitlist came through 3 weeks before I left!!!

We just got back from a wait list that started September. We hit an air fare special that was so sweet we had to try!
My advise is call, call, call. Play dumb. We got all of our days (7) finalized about 12 days before. We had back up cash ressies. I had never wait listed, but after going through it, I would keep the faith.
Good luck

Don't give up and keep calling. I've checked in with a gap in a reservation that was eventually filled......I also like getting on the plane as they close the door. Hang in there and good luck!

I would think you would get a lot of movement of the waitlist around the 31 day mark. That is the cut off point for not incurring a loss by cancelling therefore many will wait until right before to cancel.

Since you already have a place to stay for the night in question and there won't be any negative impact with your points to switch at the last minute, there's no need to give up until the day before you wanted to switch.
If the waitlist doesn't work at the 30 -31 day mark, be sure to call MS and tell them that you want to stay on the waitlist. All waitlists are cancelled at 7 days prior. At that point you need to call daily to see if anything has opened up.
If you really don't want to use vacation time to call MS (I wouldn't), then when the 7 day mark rolls around, just figure you were meant to stay at BCV for all 5 nights.
Hope it works out for you.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. We'll be happy either way...if we get it, we can enjoy the 1 BR a day longer, if not, we'll enjoy SAB a day longer!! :teeth:
